Paua Conference
2005

The “Looking Ahead” 2005 Paua Conference was a roaring success. There is an excellent line up of presenters from the Cawthron Institute, University of Canterbury, MFish, SeaFIC, Dept. of Conservation MaF, etc etc,

We have produced a summary of the conference presentations which is available to download by clicking here (hyperlink to conferencesummary.pdf)

You can also download copies of the presentations – click here for an index of the presentations (hyperlink to page of presentations).

The talk around the traps is that we shouldn’t wait for another 2 years before holding the next conference as there is so much happening within the paua industry. We are tentatively targeting holding another conference in June 2006.

The Paua Industry conferences are held each year. You can download PDF’s of the presentations given. Read more….

Conference attendance

Attending the 3rd National Abalone Convention in Hobart ( Tasmania, Australia) and the SeaFIC conference in Wellington provides the chance to learn first hand about how other commercial stakeholders are handling similar issues. Many ideas have stemmed from these meetings and these will be aired at the Paua Industry conference in June.
