The graphs below show the trends in päua asset values for each
region from 1996 to 2003.
All regions have increased in value since 1996,
with the exception of Northland/Auckland,
which decreased in 1998 from $220,000 to $100,000. The Chatham Islands
had the most significant increase in value for this period (up 150
percent). Both the Kermadec and the Sub- Antarctic regions were
only introduced to the QMS in 2002, and both had asset values of
around $200,000 for 2002 and 2003.
